UCLA-DOE and Biochemistry Instrumentation Core Facility
Overview
The UCLA-DOE and Biochemistry Shared Instrumentation core facility strives to provide the UCLA research community open access to sophisticated equipment for biochemical studies. These facilities house a wide array of detection systems useful for analysis, quantification, and identification of all types of macromolecules and their molecular interactions. It also carries equipment for cell culturing, harvesting, lysis, and high-speed centrifugation useful for biomolecule preparation.

Facility Usage Rates
General Usage Fee
The UCLA-DOE and Biochemistry Shared Instrumentation Facility charges a small general usage fee of $10 per researcher, per month; this is intended to cover the consumables associated with general use and facility maintenance. The $10 charge is only applied for months where a researcher actually enters the facility, and covers unlimited entries for that month. Additionally, any given lab is only charged for the first five researchers to limit costs to larger personnel labs; thus, any one lab will pay at most $50 per month for unlimited general facility access for an unlimited number of researchers.
Instrument Specific Usage Fees
These fees are currently undergoing review by the department and facility oversight committee. Inquire with facility management for instrument fees using the Contact Information link on the top bar.
