High Throughput Synthesis and Catalysis Facility
Molecular Instrumentation Center (MIC)
Overview
The High Throughput Synthesis and Catalysis Facility has two automated chemical experimentation systems designed to accelerate molecular discovery through high throughput techniques. The robotic systems are housed in an inert purge box, and capable of automating solid and liquid handling, as well as reaction processing in high volume, comprehensive synthetic chemistry screens. The facility also contains an LCMS with fraction collection capabilities for analysis of high throughput reaction screens. The facility is located in 1424 Molecular Sciences Building (MSB).
Members of the UCLA community, other academic institutions, and commercial enterprises may use the high throughput instrumentation after training by the High Throughput Synthesis and Catalysis Facility staff. All users will have their grants recharged for use of the high throughput instrumentation. Users from Departments other than Chemistry and Biochemistry must request a 13-digit recharge account prior to use.
